In a standard IVF or ICSI cycle, if more than one embryo is produced a choice must be made by our embryologists about which embryo to transfer to give you the best chance of achieving a pregnancy.  That choice is made on the appearance and the development of the embryos in the laboratory.

Advanced scientific techniques called Pre-implantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) and Pre-implantation Genetic Screening (PGS) give another factor to decide which embryo to transfer – the genetic health of your embryo.

We have been offering access to Pre-implantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) and Pre-implantation Genetic Screening (PGS) at Westmead Fertility Centre with great success.  If you would like to know more about these advanced techniques and if this is appropriate for your particular circumstance, make an appointment to talk to one of our Specialists.
